The Impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) On Chinese Electric Power Enterprise: A Case Study of Shaanxi State Grid Corporation of China (2015)

Shaanxi State Grid Corporation CSR Dissertation – Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an important topic in recent years. Nowadays Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) not only attracts the scholars but also the firms and organizations. Especially the large firms are increasingly concerned about social responsibility. The past quarter of a century has seen Western businesses investing heavily in China, all striving to adapt their business models to this huge market, while bringing capital, technology and management know-how to China.

Today, China is probably more integrated into the international community than at any point in its history, and the competitive economic landscape is changing rapidly. For multinational firms that take social and environmental responsibilities seriously, unprecedented opportunities abound for them to turn the corporate social responsibility (CSR) fad into a real opportunity for social change.

This research study is to explore about the State Grid Company, especially Shaanxi Electric Power Company’s achievements in construction of “one strong three superior”(strong electrical network, fine property, high quality service, outstanding achievement) on the modern company’s contribution stage. The culture construction is strengthened into further impel to fulfill the social responsibility. This research study is based on how to fulfill the electric power supply company’s social responsibility.

It focus on analyzing Shaanxi Electric Power Company’s security culture, service culture and the reliable culture systems, then proposing the methods to promote and implement the community responsibility. At the end, it implements how to take social responsibility as the important aspects for Electric Power Enterprise’s culture construction impetus mechanism. Enterprises based on the society, so they should voluntarily take on social economic responsibility, legal responsibility, moral responsibility and charitable responsibility.

The research objectives are:

  • To investigate whether the “Economic responsibilities” have an effect on “Corporate Culture” in SGCC Shaanxi Electric Power Company.
  • To investigate whether the “Social responsibilities” have an effect on “Corporate Culture” in SGCC Shaanxi Electric Power Company.
  • To investigate whether the “Customer responsibilities” have an effect on “Corporate Culture” in SGCC Shaanxi Electric Power Company.
  • To investigate whether the “Employee responsibilities” have an effect on “Corporate Culture” in SGCC Shaanxi Electric Power Company.
  • To investigate whether the “Environmental responsibilities” have an effect on “Corporate Culture” in SGCC Shaanxi Electric Power Company.
