Analysis into Trade Relations Between Countries of The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and The United States Under Obama’s Administration (2018)
The purpose of the dissertation has is to assess and observe the influence of Obama policies on the trade relations between countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and USA. For the attainment of the purpose, the deductive approach has been used and quantitative data from 2009 to 2016 has been gathered from secondary sources. The research findings disclosed that Obama oil import reluctant policies adversely influenced the trade relation of GCC with the USA. Obama policy was to reduce the oil import from GCC and increase the local production capacity.
Obama aimed to reduce the use of oil and improve the utilisation of fossil fuel that discourages oil exports from GCC. On the other hand, China offered immense growth opportunities for GCC countries due to its increased demand for oil that changed the focus of GCC to China for the exports of its oil. It is recommended that the further research is conducted by considering another variable such as export of services and goods than oil.
The dissertation and research aim can be broken down into smaller objectives which would make research more structured. These objectives are as follows:
