Identifying Human Resource Challenges When Managing a Multicultural Workforce: Perspectives of HRM Postgraduate Students (2018)
Managing A multicultural workforce Dissertation – The research was conducted to examine the challenges before HR Managers in managing multi cultural teams from the point of view of post graduate students studying HRM. The primary focus of the study was to answer the question “Is diverse workforce imperative to the growth of an organisation” Therefore, a comprehensive literature review was conducted to explore the research studies conducted by previous researchers on the subject of managing a multicultural workforce.
The second part of the research explored various challenges faced by HR managers in the management of multicultural teams. The study used quantitative research methods to collect and analyse both primary and secondary data. Questionnaire was administered to collect the primary data from 30 postgraduate students, who were chosen by random sampling. Secondary data was collected by way of reviewing documents from previous studies.
The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software was used for analysing the data and presenting the findings. The majority of participants believed that diversity impacts organization as a whole and teamwork, employee job satisfaction and productivity in particular. Efficient diversity management offers a competitive advantage over other organizations.
