History of Hospitality in India Dissertation – This dissertation assesses and explores the relationship of cultural and religious factors on customer satisfaction and the performance of the hospitality industry. The research has reviewed recent literature to aggregate data on cultural and religious tourism and has used an array of tools to analyze the relationship. The research had used a quantitative data analysis with statistical tools such as regression and correlations.
The findings show that cultural and religious tourism does indeed have a positive relationship with customer satisfaction and the performance of the hospitality industry in India. The research recommends that the hotels study the cultural factors and religious factors and provide services catering to a variety of cultural and religious needs as India is a culturally and religiously diverse country.
The study’s focus is on the Indian hospitality business. The problem statement is there may be an effect of religion and culture in the Indian hospitality business on which there is no recent and up to date research. This research project aims to resolve this problem by investigating the history of the Indian hospitality industry and the effect of religion and culture in the hospitality business.
The subject was selected because of the remarkable rise of the hotel business in recent years. This industry contributes a significant amount of money to the economies of nations such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and others. Furthermore, this business is providing employment possibilities for thousands of individuals, which is a boon as the rate of unemployment continues to decline. India is a large nation with an unimaginable amount of tourist attractions, the most significant of which is the spiritual tourism attractions.
India’s standing among the top nations for tourism is improving, as it has jumped from 65th to 34th place in the last year. The contribution of this industry to the country’s overall GDP is 7.5 percent, which is a significant contribution. Furthermore, because of the job possibilities offered by this industry, the unemployment rate has decreased by 1%. Because India has the potential to grow in this business, the study subject has been selected to discover insights and possibilities that would benefit the Indian tourist sector.
